I did a little experiment few months ago. I signed up to an affiliate program that sells ringtones (Funtonia). I downloaded music videos from Youtube and re-uploaded them on different accounts putting my affiliate link in the description. Most of the videos were not getting much views; nonetheless, people were clicking my link! Now I won't lie to you saying that I made a lot of money because I didn't. There are reasons for that. I didn't spend much time working on it as I was studying to prepare some of my exams, I only uploaded few videos and they were not that popular. My goal was to see how viewers would respond to this method.
The good thing about this strategy is that I don't have to redirect people to my blog. I can directly send them to the affiliate site. If you want to know how to make money on Youtube as an affiliate, read on my friends.
The first thing you need to do is to find an affiliate program. Funtonia, for example, offers up to $12 for every referral who subscribe to their luxury package. I didn't spend much time doing research to find better deals. So I encourage you to look for more lucrative affiliate programs.
The second step is to find videos to upload. Go to MTV billboard first to see the most popular videos. Select 5 or more that you want to upload. There are websites and even software that allow you to download Youtube video for free. I recommend Vixy.net and keepvid.com. I also use a free program called Youtube Downloader.
As you probably know, it is difficult to beat the already existing competition. So the key here is to upload your videos to multiple accounts or channels using different keywords. You also have to keep in mind that Youtube will sooner or later delete your videos for copyright violation. That's why it's better to use fake accounts/channels.
One of the things I also like doing is to anticipate the release of a new video and be one of the firsts to upload it on Youtube. For example, I check the artists that are coming out with new albums to know when their videos will drop. And as soon as they are out, I upload them.
The next thing is to put your affiliate link in the description areas of each video. It's better to disguise it on Youtube with TinyURL. Also, you have to create little annotations to show your audience where to click. Something like an arrow and the words “Download the ringtone for this song” will do it. Soon enough people will start clicking your link. You can repeat the process over and over again.
I've also noticed Ebay affiliates promoting products on YT. It's pretty much the same as writing a review article. The only difference is that you are using images and sounds instead. If you're a ClickBank affiliate, for example, you can videotape yourself talking about a good product that you previously tested. This, of course, gives you more credibility than a simple article.
That's all I have share for today. Have a nice day...
